Starting with a new primary care physician is a significant step. You aren’t just choosing a doctor; you’re choosing a partner for your long-term health. At Aristos Internal Medicine, we’ve intentionally departed from the “corporate medicine” feel to create an experience that is both technologically advanced and deeply personal.
If you are transitioning to our practice, here is a transparent look at how we operate and what you can expect during your first visit and beyond.
A Different Kind of Arrival: No Receptionists, No Waiting
The first thing you will notice when you arrive at our clinic is what’s missing: there is no receptionist glass. We believe that the traditional experience—signing clipboards and speaking through a window—creates an unnecessary barrier.
- The Process: When you arrive, simply take a seat in our comfortable waiting area. You don’t need to “check in” with a staff member.
- The Personal Handoff: I will come out to the waiting area personally to greet you. I respect your time and believe our relationship should begin with a personal connection, not a clerical transaction.
From the Waiting Room to My Office
In most clinics, patients are shuffled into sterile “exam rooms” and told to wait on a table. At Aristos, we don’t do that.
For our conversation, you will come directly into my office and sit across from my desk. We believe that healthcare is a high-level consultation. Sitting face-to-face in a professional office setting—rather than perched on an exam table—promotes a more comfortable, equal, and thorough exchange of ideas. If a physical examination is necessary, we have the facilities for that, but the core of our work happens through dialogue.
Virtual Care: Your Time Matters
I understand that your time is valuable. I will only insist on seeing you in person if it is
strictly necessary for your safety or a physical examination. If it is more convenient to meet
virtually, I am happy to do so as long as it is clinically appropriate. In many cases, there is no
reason to drive across town and spend half a day on a doctor’s visit. I won’t ask you to do that
unless it’s necessary—though you are, of course, always welcome to come to the office if you
prefer.
Technology That Works for You
Modern medicine requires a lot of data, but we don’t believe data collection should happen while
we are sitting face-to-face.
- Pre-Visit Questionnaires: Before your appointment, you will receive digital forms via our patient portal.
- Why it Matters: These forms pre-populate your Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Bydoing this work ahead of time, I can review your history before we meet. This ensuresthat our time together is spent on clinical reasoning and building a plan—not on mestaring at a computer screen typing in basic data.
Communication and the Privia Health Network
Clear communication is the backbone of high-quality care. To keep things convenient, we offer
several ways to stay in touch:
- The Patient Portal: The most secure way to view lab results, request refills, or ask medical questions.
- Calling & Texting: We offer texting for administrative matters (scheduling, directions). Please do not text sensitive medical details or photos; use the secure Patient Portal for those.
Aristos Internal Medicine is an insurance-based practice and a proud member of the Privia
Health Network. This allows us to remain a small, personalized clinic while offering the robust
patient portals and top-tier specialist networks of a national medical group.
