Kyle Varner, MD

Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM)

Board Certified in Obesity Medicine (ABOM)

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine

Dr. Kyle Varner is a physician board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine and the founder of Aristos Internal Medicine. He provides comprehensive adult primary care with a focus on prevention, metabolic health, and the thoughtful management of medical complexity.

Dr. Varner completed his undergraduate education at St. John’s College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, an academic program known for its rigorous emphasis on critical thinking and interdisciplinary study. He received his medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He achieved board certification in Internal Medicine in 2016 and in Obesity Medicine in 2025.

Clinical Focus & Approach

Dr. Varner practices full-scope internal medicine and is trained to manage a broad range of adult medical conditions, including patients with multiple chronic illnesses and higher levels of clinical complexity.

He has a particular clinical focus on obesity and metabolic health, an interest shaped by his own lifelong experience with obesity. This personal perspective informs a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care and a deep understanding of the medical, psychological, and practical challenges faced by patients with obesity.

Dr. Varner credits the effectiveness of modern obesity therapies with allowing him to remain physically active at a high level, including his ability to play competitive polo. This lived experience reinforces his belief that effective obesity treatment can meaningfully improve health, function, and quality of life—not just numbers on a scale.

Whenever appropriate, Dr. Varner endeavors to provide care to the full extent of his training, using specialist referrals thoughtfully when they add value or when requested by the patient. His goal is to maintain continuity, minimize fragmented care, and ensure that medical decisions are made within the broader context of each patient’s overall health.

Care is delivered virtually or in person based on what is most appropriate for the patient and the clinical situation.
